        Uno de los lugares más recomendados para visitar en Pátzcuaro, es la Biblioteca Pública Gertrudis Bocanegra. Este antiguo edificio, puede ser apreciado desde los balcones del Hotel Mansión Iturbe localizados en la calle de Iturbe.       Esta construcción, data de 1576 y albergó al Convento de los Agustinos. A partir de 1860 a este complejo arquitectónico se le dio un uso secular y en 1882 el Gobierno de Estado vendió la mayoría del inmueble.
