Antonio Arriaga Ochoa, an Illustrious Patzcuarence

Among the illustrious characters of Pátzcuaro , we find Antonio Arriaga Ochoa . Prominent lawyer, museum buff, historian, writer, and poet of the 20th century in Mexico. Antonio Arriaga Ochoa, a painting at the Library at the  Michoacan Regional Museum Antonio Arriaga Ochoa , was a promoter of Pátzcuaro culture.  He was born in Pátzcuaro in January 1913, and died in Mexico City on December 25, 1974. He promoted the redevelopment of what is now the Casa de Los Once Patios in our magical village. Entre los personajes ilustres de Pátzcuaro , encontramos a Antonio Arriaga Ochoa. Destacado abogado, museógrafo, historiador, escritor y poeta del Siglo XX en México. Antonio Arriaga Ochoa, ilustre patzcuarence Antonio Arriaga Ochoa, fue un promotor de la cultura Pátzcuarence, nació en Pátzcuaro en enero de 1913 y murió en la Ciudad de México el 25 de diciembre de 1974. Promovió la remodelación de lo que hoy es la Casa de los Once Patios en nuestro Pueblo Mágico . Don Vasco de Quiroga: the Great Benefactor of the Purépechas

The work of Don Vasco de Quiroga five centuries ago still amazes visitors to Pátzcuaro .  He was the great benefactor of the Purépecha indigenous people. A renaissance man with innovative ideas, he delivered justice to indigenous peoples who had suffered abysmal abuses and humiliations.  He implemented a community development program, leaving a great cultural legacy, which can be traced by following “The Route of Don Vasco.” Don Vasco de Quiroga Square in Pátzcuaro, Michoacán Pátzcuaro is one of the primary stops on Don Vasco's Route .
