Celebration of the Green Cross in Pátzcuaro

         On May 3rd the celebration of the “Green Cross” is a VERY traditional celebration in Patzcuaro.   It’s full of color, music, joy, and dance.   It’s a day of celebration and activities with roots in the “Cruz Verde” neighborhood, that culminates with wonderful fireworks - visible from many communities - in the evening. SECOND WORLD CULTURAL TOURISM EXPO IN MORELIA

On September 29, 2011, marked the first day of the Second World Cultural Tourism Expo in Morelia , Michoacán.   For four exciting days, tourist attractions of Michoacán and other international destinations were showcased. During the kickoff cocktail party, national and international concessionaires, tour companies, and Michoacán hotel owners were able to mingle and brainstorm about tourism challenges and goals.   Directors of the Council for the Promotion of Mexican Tourism were the primary facilitators for the event.     It was an expo to show to the world the historic, cultural, and natural riches of Michoacán.   If we had had time, we could have attended about 50 different cultural events held in various public venues in Morelia .       An important event during this World Expo took place in Pátzcuaro “La Magía de mis Pueblos .”   An exposition of pictures of the different Magic Towns in México.
