Celebration of Corpus Christi (Body of Christ) in Pátzcuaro
Among the many religious festivities that are celebrated in Mexico , we find Corpus Chirsti , also known as "The Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ." A festival that dates back to the Middle Ages, it has its origin in the thirteenth century in Europe, in the city of Leija in Belgium. The date of Corpus Thursday is not fixed; it is determined as 60 days after Easter Sunday, to remember the Body and Blood of Christ, present in the Blessed Sacrament.
