The prestigious  Rotterdam Symphony  and renowned  Canadian violinist Lara St. John  performed at the  Basilica of Our Lady of Health . National Guitar Fair in Paracho 2013

The National Guitar Fair in Paracho will be held August 3-11.   This annual event is for everyone who enjoys guitar music, tradition, and artisanship.   The prize-winning artisans of Paracho have achieved international fame for their guitars . National Guitarre Fair in Paracho   August is also the month for the National Copper Fair in Santa Clara del Cobre .   With these two events, August is an excellent time for our Pátzcuaro visitors to enhance their summer experience. Paracho is 45 miles from Pátzcuaro (Route 14), and is ready, willing, and able to receive visitors! You will find various venues for guitar-building competitions during the Faire.   Other areas represented in addition to Michoacán include Tijuana, and the States of Mexico, Sonora, and Guanajuato.   The winners of the competitions will be highlighted in the Casa de la Cultura in Paracho during the Fair. Discover the Magic Town of Tacambaro

Tacambaro is another Magic Town in Michoacan , located just 55 kilometers (25 miles) south of Patzcuaro . Known as the Balcony of Tierra Caliente , it received its title of Pueblo Mágico in November 2012. Panorama of the Tierra Caliente Tacambaro is blessed with a fabulous climate and lovely, natural surroundings and avocado orchards. The pastoral area has a small lake (“pool”) and and extinct volcano surrounded by pines and oak trees. Another place you may want to visit is the Hollow Hill Ecological Park, which is a natural protected area from which you can admire the Tierra Caliente panorama, and visit the Magdalena Lagoon. In Purhepecha , the indigenous idiom of the area, Tacambaro means “Place of the Date Palms.” We suggest you take the time to get to know this Magic Town.
