The Voladores of San Pedro Tarimbaro de Michoacan, a World Heritage Site

The  Voladores  (which means “flyers”; more on that below) of San Pedro Tarímbaro , were declared an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2009 by UNESCO, and was registered in 2009 as "The Ritual Ceremony of the Voladores.” The Voladores of San Pedro Tarimbaro of Michoacan, a World Heritage Site Michoacán has six World Heritage Sites : the Historic Center of Morelia, the Night of the Dead tradition, La Pirekua (indigenous song), Traditional Mexican Cuisine , “ el Paradigma Michoacana” (Michoacan traditional cuisine), the Biosphere Reserve of the Monarch Butterfly, and the  Voladores  of San Pedro. Los Voladores de San Pedro Tarímbaro , fueron declarados en el 2009 por la UNESCO, como Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial de la Humanidad . Inscrito como “La Ceremonia Ritual de los Voladores”. Crafts in Michoacán

For lovers of Mexican Folk Art, Michoacán has a special place. We have a huge variety of handicrafts ; the Instituto del Artesano Michoacano has located 16 artisan wares throughout the state. Crafts in Michoacán: Catrinas from Capula In Michoacán we find five ethnic groups: purépechas, mazahuas, nahuas, Otomí and Matlatzingas or Piringuas. Each of them has its own specialties, which the groups have managed to preserve for generations.
