The Voladores of San Pedro Tarimbaro de Michoacan, a World Heritage Site
The Voladores (which means “flyers”; more on that below) of San Pedro Tarímbaro , were declared an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2009 by UNESCO, and was registered in 2009 as "The Ritual Ceremony of the Voladores.” The Voladores of San Pedro Tarimbaro of Michoacan, a World Heritage Site Michoacán has six World Heritage Sites : the Historic Center of Morelia, the Night of the Dead tradition, La Pirekua (indigenous song), Traditional Mexican Cuisine , “ el Paradigma Michoacana” (Michoacan traditional cuisine), the Biosphere Reserve of the Monarch Butterfly, and the Voladores of San Pedro.
