Festival of Christ the Redeemer in Tzintzuntzan, Michoacán
The festival
of Christ the Redeemer in Tzintzuntzan
– host to the event – is one of the most traditional festivals in Michoacán and
takes place eight days before “Carnival Tuesday.” At Hotel Mansion Iturbe, we invite you to participate in the festivities in this
important Magical Town.
On the day of the solemn celebration, there are “mañanitas” to Christ the Redeemer and an early-morning mass. During the course of the day, there will also be confirmations and first communions.
Artisans take advantage of this gathering to sell
their wares in the Olive Courtyard
in front of the temples. Shopping in the
shade of 500-year-old olive trees – what an awesome atmosphere! In addition to selling products directly to
the public, there is also an artisan’s
competition, where you will see the best of the best.
Being a festival, you will also enjoy live music and,
of course, delicious typical food of the región.
The day ends with street parties and fireworks for one of the most important celebrations of the year in Tzintzuntzan.
