Michoacán is
rich in natural resources and biodiversity. We have a coastline of 247
kilometers (153 miles). We also have several migrations that are wonders
of nature, such as that of the monarch butterfly in the east, and the borregone
pelicans and turtles that come to the coast to spawn.

Our
Paricutín Volcano is a natural wonder of the world. Other natural
wonders include the emblematic Lake Pátzcuaro, and various protected
natural areas such as Lake Camécuaro with its impressive trees, and the National Park in Uruapan. Lake Zirahuén and the Sulphur Region “Los Azufres”
are also favorite destinations.
