The Floral Rugs of Patamban, in the indigenous community of the
municipality of Tangancícuaro, normally takes place each year, in western Michoacán, typically the last Sunday in
October in honor of the Patron Saint of the village, Christ the King.

For the elaboration of
these floral rugs, it is necessary to collect flowers, fruits, seeds, leaves
and wood. Flowers used include birds of paradise, marigolds, bougainvillea,
gladioli, and margaritas, among others. An explosion of color, textures, aromas
and lots of imagination show the art of Patamban
craftsmen.
