Friday, April 8:
The Artisan Expo kicks off in the Plaza Vasco de Quiroga, just across the street from Hotel Mansión Iturbe, with about
500 Michoacán artisans.
Various “Altares de Dolores” (Altars of the Pained Mary) can be found at various locations throughout Pátzcuaro,
including Hotel Mansión Iturbe. Make these lovely altars part of your
things-to-do in Pátzcuaro.

Palm Sunday is April 10, celebrated in all of Pátzcuaro’s
temples.
Thursday, April 14, is the washing
of feet in the Plaza Vasco de Quiroga, Prayer of the Garden, the Last
Supper, and arrest of Christ at 7:00 p.m.
Good Friday is April 15 in the same plaza – judgment and condemnation of Christ at
noon. Different artistic figures of Christ depart from our basilica at
7:00 p.m., weaving through various streets of downtown Pátzcuaro.

The procession in silence is held
Saturday, April 16, leaving the temple of San Francisco at 6:00 p.m.

April 17 is Easter Sunday, with
cultural events all afternoon in the main plaza, starting at 5:00 p.m.
The Ballet Folklórico Petatzcécuaro del
Ayuntamiento de Pátzcuaro, with el Dueto Echari y la Orquesta Antiguo de
Quinceo.

the Plaza Vasco de Quiroga, take a moment to look up at the beautiful deep
purple decorations on the balconies of the buildings surrounding the plaza.
