Expos and Festivities to Enjoy in Pátzcuaro Area this Summer

Summer is a time of expos and festivities in Pátzcuaro and our region, and many of our guests at Hotel Mansión Iturbe want to be part of them. Among the most outstanding events are several that over the years have been gaining prestige and popularity.

If you are coming to the Pátzcuaro are in summer 2022, below are four events you may not to miss.

July 15-17:  Hot-air balloon fest in Paracho, an exciting event growing in popularity over the years.

August  6 - 14: International Guitar Fair, also in Paracho.

Paracho was recently declared another “Pueblo Mágico” (Magical Village), is about 40 miles (68 kilometers) from Pátzcuaro.

Located in the Purépecha Plateau, Paracho has attained international acclaim for its fine stringed instruments, especially guitars.  People also go to Paracho in search of wooden toys and other artisan works.

While there, take advantage of traditional Michoacán cuisine, including churipo with corundas. Yummy!

July 22-24:  Cantoya Festival in Pátzcuaro.  Huge (unmanned), colorful hot-air balloons are released into the air.  Many artisan works and other attractions are part of the event.

As always, remember to abide by all the established sanitary measures to minimize the risks of Covid and the flu.

August 6-16:  National Copper Festival in Santa Clara de Cobre (another Pueblo Mágico), just 10 miles (19 kilometers) from Pátzcuaro.  See and buy the best of the best hammered copper at the Concurso Nacional de Cobre Martillado.  Of course, you will find mouth-watering things to satisfy your hunger as you walk from venue to venue.
