Religious festivities are celebrated intensely in Pátzcuaro. They include processions where residents participate in various attitudes of joy, fervor, humility, and devotion.
In the communities speckled along the shores of Lake Pátzcuaro, you can visit their workshops and traditional kitchens and interact with the friendly locals.

couple blocks from Mansión Iturbe,
you will find two places which are essential to better understand the history
and local culture: (1) the publiclibrary Gertrudis Bocanegra with JuanO´Gorman’s gigantic mural that captures the history of Michoacán, and (2) the Museum
of Arts and Folk Industries, which has a magnificent collection of Michoacán folk art pieces, and
representations of the indigenous’ everyday of life, including an actual “troje” (traditional indigenous house) behind the museum.
