Cementeries Route for Day of the Dead in Pátzcuaro and the Lake Region
"What to do in Pátzcuaro on Day of the Dead?" is one of the most frequent questions from our guests at Hotel Mansión Iturbe. Visiting the cemeteries in Pátzcuaro and the various communities around Lake Pátzcuaro during the Day of the Dead is a primary activity, and having a cemetery route for Day of the Dead in Pátzcuaro and the Lake Region is very useful.
Therefore, a
good map of the cemeteries that guides you on how to get there is essential to
reach the cemeteries on the Day of the Dead.
You can
participate in this ancestral ritual of the Purépecha community as an observer.
However, it's important to remember to always be respectful, as people are
there to watch over their loved ones. Additionally, we remind you to follow the
instructions of the authorities.
Here we share a map created by the Michoacán Tourism Board, showing the different cemeteries you can visit during this Day of the Dead season. You will find various cemeteries there.
Map of the Route for Cementeries for Day of the Dead in Patzcuaro and the Lake Region in Michoacan, Mexico made by SECTUR MICHOACAN |
For us in Michoacán,
we know this ritual as the Day of the Dead, or in Purépecha: Ánimecheeri
Kwínchekwa, and it takes place on November 1st and 2nd, not only in the
communities of the Lake Region but also on the islands of Lake
Pátzcuaro.
We also
recommend visiting Pátzcuaro and the Lake Region throughout the entire Day
of the Dead season. Through the Michoacan Tourism Board, a series of
activities and experiences have been organized to make your stay even more
enjoyable, which has been called the Week of the Dead in Michoacán.
If you want more
information about Michoacán during this Day of the Dead season
and the program of activities, visit the VISIT MICHOACAN website.
