Our guests at Mansión Iturbe quickly become “regulars” at our very own Restaurante Doña Paca, where many patrons are introduced for the first time to the traditional liqueurs of Ucareo. Unfortunately, most of these people don’t have the chance to visit this picturesque village in eastern Mochoacán. But if they can squeeze in the trip, they will not be disappointed.         We find Ucareo just 60 kilometers (about 40 miles) from Morelia, near the city of Zinapécuaro.        La mayoría de los huéspedes de Mansión Iturbe en Pátzcuaro, que degustan un licor tradicional de Ucareo en nuestro Restaurante Doña Paca, no han tenido aún la oportunidad de visitar este pintoresco pueblo en el Oriente de Michoacán y nos preguntan a cerca de éste lugar.             Ucareo se localiza en la parte alta del municipio de Zinapécuaro, a 60 de Morelia. Se puede llegar por la Autopista de Occidente o bien por la carretera Morelia-Maravatío. Se ubica en una zona fría y boscosa que por su clima tiene una añeja tradición frutícola que data del siglo XVI, cuando llegaron los Evangelizadores Agustinos a esta región.           Se cosechan diversas frutas, destacando la ciruela, el durazno y   el membrillo, entre otras frutillas que son comercializadas en el mercado nacional y en el extranjero.         ...
