With various levels of talent – but always with a healthy dose of imagination – we saw a wide variety of artists’ subjects in the course of this very entertaining show.  It was a family event, where even the artists’ small children helped out.  Despite an otherwise overcast day, many people came to check out the works.  None of them were disappointed by what they saw.  But what a shame!  The works of art, drawn with chalk on the ground, last such a short time.  We very much look forward to attending the second show in 2014.

The Festival was homage to José Guadalupe Posada, who died 100 years ago.
José Guadalupe Posada (Aguascalientes, February 2, 1852 – Mexico City, January 20, 1913) was a Mexican painter, illustrator, and cartoonist.  He was best known for his folkloric and social-political drawings, and his skeletons, including the famous Catrina.
